Definition:

The purpose of the Worthy Student Fund is to provide financial assistance, to those who wish to further their education up to a bachelor’s degree and also to those who wish to go to Technical College or Certificate Programs, to any school of their choice.

Oversight:

The Worthy Student Fund will be managed by a committee selected by the Church Board, at the same time we select all other officers and to serve for the same period of time.

A committee member or a church member, selected by the committee, will serve as a mentor to the Worthy Student, for the duration of his or her program.

The Committee should consist of 5 members of the church.

Eligibility:

It is open to any member of the church or a nonchurch member who attends on a regular basis as determined by the committee.

The student will maintain a passing grade and a warning will be given if they fail a class or the mentor has determined that the student has lost interest.

The yearly scholarship money will be a maximum of $500.00 a year, unless the committee determines otherwise.

We also recommend that the student be enrolled in a work study program or work no more than 20 hours a week.

The Committee will only meet when a request for funds has been made.
